BPJPH’s Mandatory Programs for Halal Certification Bodies Accreditation
Training of Halal Auditor Based on National Work Competency Standard & Implementation $500
*This program can be bundled with Halal Auditor Competency Test ($ 790)
TRAINING DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND :
Halal Product Assurance System, also known as the Indonesia Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH), is a comprehensive set of procedures and practices implemented according to the requirements by the Indonesia Halal Product Assurance System (BPJPH) to ensure that Halal Products are produced and marketed in accordance with Islamic laws and principles. SJPH involves a series of steps that begin with sourcing raw materials and continue throughout the production and distribution process. By implementing a Halal product assurance system, other than to comply with halal regulations in Indonesia, businesses can expand their market reach and appeal to a wider consumer base while promoting ethical and sustainable business practices.
Halal auditors play a critical role in the halal certification process, ensuring that products and services meet the standards for halal compliance. To ensure proper halal certification, it is crucial that halal auditors have the required competencies in line with the work competency standard. Currently, the National Work Standard (SKKNI) No. 266, issued and implemented by the Indonesian Government in 2019, is the only globally recognized standard for halal auditor competency. This standard can be used for halal auditors working with foreign Halal Certification Bodies (HCBs).

Having a Shariah board is necessary, other than as one of the requirements in the accreditation of Halal Certification Bodies (HCBs) from Indonesia’s government through the Indonesia Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH). It is also important because Shariah board deeply understands Islamic law and can ensure that the certification process aligns with Islamic principles.
Without a Shariah board, there is a risk that the certification process may not fully comply with Islamic law, which could result in a loss of trust and credibility for the certifying agency among Muslim consumers.
